Dancers from the Halifax area must be a minimum of 14 years of age as of June 16, 2018. Dancers from outside the Halifax area are encouraged to apply and must be a minimum of 19 years of age as of June 16, 2018. Dancers from outside the Halifax area will receive Tattoo sponsored accommodations and food vouchers for lunch and dinner.
At the end of the application form you will be prompted to submit an unlisted YouTube link of yourself dancing a 4+2 Seann Truibhas. Please use the 2018 SOBHD Championship steps. Dancers will be evaluated based on both technique and presentation and must be in a full kilt outfit with matching jacket and socks.
Please have your dance teacher send a letter of reference directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. This step is not necessary if a reference letter was submitted for 2017 RNSIT auditions as we still have your reference letter on file. The letter must not come from a dancer’s own email account. It should be a maximum of one page in length and address why the applicant is interested in being a part of the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo Highland Dance Team and why he/she should be considered. The letter should also speak to the applicant’s personality and how he/she:
– interacts with others and works in team-based scenarios;
– handles pressure, last minute changes, and long practices;
– respects punctuality, rules, authority figures and teammates.
All application forms, videos and reference letters must be submitted by midnight on January 31, 2018. Partial applications will be disqualified if not completed on time.
If you have any questions, please contact Elizabeth McCorkell and Marla MacInnis at email@example.com.
